STORIES THAT NEED TO BE TOLD

Our name, 69th Street Productions, is a nod to our roots which we continue to build from for the future. Bordering West Philadelphia, and just fifteen minutes from Center City Philadelphia, Upper Darby Township, with a population of over 80,000, is home to a large immigrant community that continues to change. More than eighty different languages are spoken around this gateway community to the suburbs, making it one of most diverse in the state of Pennsylvania. At the historic heart of Upper Darby is the business district that runs along 69th Street. Located there is the SEPTA 69th Street Terminal where tens of thousands of commuters travel daily through the terminal to go into Philadelphia or out to the suburbs. Also located there is the historic Tower Theater, built in 1927, which once featured vaudeville acts, and now plays host as a concert venue, featuring national and international performers. It was named one of the ten best live music venues in America by Rolling Stone Magazine, and once featured a spire atop the theatre that was a geographic landmark and symbol of the community. Performers such Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Phil Collins, Jethro Tull, Bob Dylan, and many more have graced the stage at the Tower. Surrounded by a working class neighborhood many of our team members grew up and lived in this neighborhood. This intersection of cultures and landmark features are cornerstones of our identity.  Our success stories and love of our community are what propelled us to launch 69th Street Productions.
